Welcome to Abruzzo Holidays 2006. We hope you will enjoy exploring and discovering this amazing region in Italy. We are a collection of holiday home owners in Abruzzo. The houses on the site are offered directly by the owners and after the initial contact you will be dealing with the owners themselves. We do have contacts with many people in Abruzzo so if there is nothing on the site which suits you then drop us a mail and we will be happy to find you something that does. Don't miss out on visiting Abruzzo!

We offer a real taste of Italian village and country life. Go independent or make use of our local knowledge to help you get the most from your stay.

We arrange cars, pick-up and drop-off from Pescara airport, guided trips, barbeques, and escorted activities. Refer to our Events & Activities page. If you prefer to be independent there is a comprehensive welcome pack in each property which gives information about all the things of interest in Abruzzo and of the village you are staying in.

Let us know ahead of your holiday if you have anything you are specifically interested in and we will do all we can to help you get the most out of your holiday in the area, or check out our special interest holidays on our Trips & Activities page.

We are passionate about Abruzzo and are sure you will be too. We look forward to seeing you.

Abruzzo is a beautiful and unspoilt region of Italy, nestled between Lazio, Marche and Molise. It has a unique mix of mountains, rivers, lakes, national parks and Adriatic beaches. There are ancient villages, churches and ruins to explore, rich with ancient customs and festivals.

The cuisine of Abruzzo is one of the best in Italy with an abundance of fruit, vegetables, fish, meat, olive oil and wine, of course! The Abruzzesi are generous in their welcome and remind you of the simple pleasures of conversation and hospitality.

Have a look at our links page for more information on the area you will see there is something for everyone.

So bring your phrase book and brush up on your Italian to get the most out of your trip to Abruzzo. A warm welcome awaits you.

Abruzzo consists of 4 regions; Teramo, Pescara, L'aquila & Chieti.

The region of Chieti is where we specialise, famous for the ‘Costa dei Trabocchi’ and for the beautiful mountains. It is an area of natural and historic beauty with all year round interest.

In summer the usual water activities are available on the beach; scuba diving, snorkeling, yachting, sailing, and beach sports. At the quieter beaches just relax or promenade along the ‘lungomare’ with the Italians or eat and drink at a local bar and watch the sun go down.

From March to November the weather is usually warm enough for the beach and from November to March the ski resorts take over with skiing and snowboarding. It is entirely possible in some months of the year to ski in the morning, eat a fine lunch and swim in the sea in the afternoon.

You can head into the mountains for walks into the 4 national parks, horse riding, canoeing, white water rafting, hiking etc. There are links to the National Park sites on our links page.

There are mediaeval/music/art festivals all year round in the various villages all of which normally include the excellent slow food cuisine, famous regional wines and oils.
